How To Improve Your Golf Swing

Just a basic easy golf swing - Isn’t that what you’re looking for? A consistent, reliable golf swing that you can count on at that first tee? The body movement is everything in golf; this is why you need to learn how to actually feel the club as a natural extension of your body. Here are some golf swing tips to make you feel more natural and master your moves in the best way possible.

One tip for your peace of your mind is not to believe the setup to be too tough a challenge, as it is not. Most beginners who look for ways to improve only need to brush their swing up a little and they’ll soon see results.

It usually goes hand in hand with your grip, so be careful with that too. A too tight a grip will ruin the move; just relax and hold the club firmly but tension-free, otherwise you’ll kill the effect of the body swing.

Your golf stance may not be perfect, but you can compensate by staying balanced and relaxed. Your weight should be equally distributed over your left and right leg. If you can pick either of your feet off the ground, you’re not balanced.

No matter how good your golf swing is - if you are aiming in the wrong direction you will obviously have problems. Most players know that as well as lining up the clubface at address that they must also line up their feet at a line parallel to the target line.

But one thing that even some advanced players forget is that although their feet are correctly aligned, they should also make sure that the shoulders are correctly aimed. This can be done by holding a club across the chest and aiming it down the correct parallel aim line. When the whole body is aimed and aligned correctly, it makes a simple, none compensating golf swing so much easier to achieve.

One simple tip to make sure that your right elbow is in the correct position at the top of your backswing, imagine that you are carrying a tray with a drink on it. Your top of backswing position and the "waiters" arm position should be exactly the same. This sets your right elbow in the correct position and also makes sure that the golf club is swinging on the right swing plane with the proper clubface angle.

Here are two backswing thoughts that are very simple:

1. Turn your back toward the target or, maybe better, think of turning your chest away from the target. Pick the thought that produces the greater feeling of coiling or resistance.

2. Don’t allow the back knee to fly outwards. Keep your weight towards the inside of that foot. The only downswing thought should be to turn your belt buckle towards the target as fast as you can

Another good golf swing tip is to avoid putting too much speed in a swing. Those golf players that look fast aren’t necessarily good. Hitting the ball fast means that the arms move independently from the body, which totally contradicts golf principles. The real tip here is to make the body and arms move synchronically, meaning that the two would move like one, following the same speed pattern.
